I work as a RA [Research Assistant] at the University of Oxford – prior to that I was a D.Phil student there. My interests at Oxford are varied – from AI/Computational Linguistics, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Philosophy, through to Experimental Psychology [Maths and the Mind] – ‘exp psy’ is where I’m an RA. I also teach Software Development in various languages, and aspects of Software Engineering [within the same subject]. As I live most of the time in Cheltenham, I schedule my classes in the evenings – which my students seem to like [based upon the class sizes anyway].
Part of my research in exp psy involves me working with small children [primary school] – which I just love. This work is closely allied to the Catch Up charity’s work in Numeracy Intervention, as it is also with http://www.numeracyintervention.net [an Oxford led initiative].
I have a few downloads you might want to look at – most will give you instructions on their usage when you first run them. You can find them all at http://www.peetm.com/blog/files/download.php
The Facebook logo – I wear a Stetson when out and about, and, lastly, my first name is spelled Peet: because when I used to work in the USA, I couldn’t stand people calling me Peedur. So I changed the spelling, and it stuck. So, I’ve no link to any part of Scandinavia – as some have inquired.
